We loved our stay in Naxos. Rita is a prompt and responsible communicator, and Lorien, the property manager, is wonderful--she met us at the property, gave us all the info we needed, and was responsive to the few things that came up while we were there (a stuck drain, which Lorien had replaced, was the only issue we had.) . She had lots of suggestions of beaches and villages to visit, which was good because there were a few days when the wind at Plaka made the sea a little rough (I was there mostly for the swimming) and the beaches to the south---especially Orca bay and the beach just south of it, Kastraki I think it's called--were calm in comparison. The house is set back from the beach and gets a great breeze, though it was never that hot while we were there and was chilly in the morning. I love the walk to the beach past the fields, and the beach itself is terrific---wide at high tide, great swimming if you watch out for rocks down near Petroni Beach, and clear. You can easily walk to a market from the house and also to a dozen restaurants. (We liked Petroni and the ice cream place next to it.) . I confess the shower situation took a little getting used to--I am used to a shower curtain, coming from the US--but once I realized that this is common on the island, I got accustomed to it. (Plus, everything dries quickly in that climate.) The house is well appointed, though if you're using the wi-fi it is best to be near the modem. The grounds and balconies were lovely. We had every meal out doors. I loved this island and I loved this house and Lorien and Rita were excellent in every way.
