What a fantastic property with lovely spacious private grounds, situated in a quiet lane a few short minutes drive from the lovely town of Carmona. We came from the UK and had a very comfortable stay here over a hot week at Easter, the house stayed beautifully cool whilst the temperatures outside soared - there are also ceiling fans in all rooms though we didn't need to use them. Spotlessly clean and super-comfortable generously sized beds (no lumpy mattresses here!), and well proportioned rooms with lovely high ceilings and tiled floors. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and all rooms well furnished. The house is frequently used by the owner's family in-between holiday rentals so has a very homely feel, and Juanjo was the perfect host, friendly, extremely helpful and full of enthusiasm, communicating with us brilliantly before and during our stay, yet also very respectful of our privacy whilst there. His English is very good! Our kids loved the pool (albeit cold at Easter!) and our teenagers the table tennis table. There was plenty of room to kick a ball about and the lovely orange grove and citrus trees were a great bonus - especially the freshly picked lemons for G&T! We had plenty of outdoor meals / bbqs on the terrace and there is welcome shade to be found under the various trees in the peaceful garden. The family keep chickens (fenced in round the back of the house) which also added to the rustic feel of this lovely place. If you want to stay in an authentic Spanish home this is the perfect property, and within easy reach of many places of interest including Seville and Cordoba. Carmona itself is a fantastic local town with its Roman ruins, its impressive ancient fortress that dominates the town centre and its many charming winding backstreets filled with typically Spanish architecture, huge churches, and there are many typically Spanish eateries, coffee shops and little boutiques/shops dotted about. We especially enjoyed the non-toursity feel of the place and the complete absence of any chain type shops (apart from the supermarkets of course, of which there is a good choice - Mercadona, Aldi, Lidl etc). Juanjo was able to advise on everything - including where to go for gluten free dining, so we lacked nothing! Thank you Juanjo and family for a wonderful stay. We very much hope to return!
