I'm a regular visitor of Budapest - at least once a year for the last ten years. I've stayed in this apartment for roughly a month the last two years.
This isn't a place for those who want to stay in the center of town or be coddled by the tourist industry. The apartment itself is located in a gentrifying area of Budapest. It's very safe and in a place where you can experience living with the locals. The nearby market probably has no vendors who speak English, but they figure it out.
That being said, you are steps from Tram 4/6 (and arterial tram which runs 24/7), 2 major metro lines and a bus hub. These provide a direct connection to all major train stations (Keleti, Deli, Nyugati, and Kelenfold) and boundless transportation options to get you around town efficiently.
Within close walking distance you will find luxury hotels, nightlife, coffee, the above mentioned city market, great cakes and a few restaurants, all identified in the documents Eliane provides.
Eliane is a great, if efficient, host. She provides instructions for you to enter the apartment 24/7 whether Eliane is available or not. Essentially, you may stay without ever seeing Eliane or any of her staff the entire trip. We had small issues with our apartment both stays and she is quick to respond to email and resolve any issues brought to her attention. Should you have the opportunity to meet her, she's a wealth of knowledge.
The apartment itself is amazingly large and well insulated from noise both from inside and outside the building (though you'll catch some street noise if you have the windows open). The apartment was recently rehabbed, though still showing some wear and some older furnishings. The kitchen well appointed with cooking and serving utensils and all rooms but the kitchen having their own air conditioning unit. The building has an elevator (though you'll still need to climb about 6 steps), is well secured and the renovations in the common area were underway as we left mid July 2016. Overall, we stayed here a month each stay and felt at home our entire stay.
All in all, we find the apartment to be a good value, particularly for a long term stay and we look forward to continuing our visits with Eliane in the future.
