Cozy Cabin with amazing mountain & river views!
My husband and I stumbled upon this cabin while researching places to stay in N. GA and decided to book for our 10 year anniversary trip. We are so glad we did! It was everything we wanted and, even more, what we didn't realize we needed! We aren't exactly what you would call outdoors folks but this cabin ignited a passion for nature in us both we didn't fully realize we had. It is off the beaten path and the breath-taking views you get during the scenic route to it make it 110% worth the drive! The owner is extremely responsive and answered all the many questions we had as first-time visitors to Blue Ridge. He also provided firewood for the fireplace, which we enjoyed every evening of our stay. He also provided seed for the bird feeders and binoculars which made for great bird watching! The walk down to the river is a hike since the cabin rests higher on the mountain but the pay off is 1) exercise to burn off the calories from all the delicious food we ate and 2) an INCREDIBLE mountain/ river view from the cabin porches! When you get down to the river level there is a huge grassy field that would be perfect for children to play in as well as a swing, hammock, fire pit, grill and table. It would be a great place for fishing and tubing depending on the season. I don't usually sleep well when I'm away from home but the couch and beds were very comfortable and I had zero problems falling and staying asleep! The bathroom had its on (optional) heater built in to the fan system so coupled with the outstanding bathroom water pressure, each shower felt like a spa experience! We were 20-45 mins from anything and everything we wanted to do and enjoyed the drive everywhere we went! The cabin is nestled on the side of the mountain, in the woods, on the edge of a national forest full of hiking trails so if you love nature, peace, wildlife and tranquility you will be in heaven! That said, we can see why the owners fell in love. We jokingly said "we've found our home away from home" in this lovely cabin and the town of Blue Ridge. We will most certainly be visiting again!
Thanks for the kind review. Hope you will come back soon.
The cabin was clean and well equipped. It has a big fireplace with lots of seasoned firewood provided which we took advantage of every night. The kitchen has every utensil, lots of silverware, a big updated fridge and stove, and even a crockpot. The back porch has plenty of seats to sit and watch the birds on the bird feeders and listen to the river down below. Beds were comfortable, good water pressure in the shower, and the cabin was overall well kept up. Peaceful and secluded. I thought the driveway was a little tricky but our husbands zipped up and down it in their SUVs backwards and forwards with no hesitation. We saw lots of deer and wild turkeys on the 25 minute scenic drive into Blue Ridge. We would definitely stay there again.
Sounds to me you enjoy all the same things we do about our cabin as well. The fact that we are the second cabin as the river come out of the National Forest brings a lot of wildlife. And the rapits in front of the cabin provide great sounds for sleeping and just relaxing.
Hope to see you again next fall. Book early as dates go fast.
We felt very comfortable and right at home at Reeves Roast! Everything we expected and more. If you enjoy listening to a river rushing, or birds grabbing a snack, this home away is for you. Thank you for having us. Great place to relax!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back gain soon.
5 Star plus
Mr. and Ms. Reeves, yalls cabin is one of the most beautiful, peaceful places on the planet. We fished, went shooting at NCF, went hiking and sight seeing. Thank you for having us. We hope you’ll have us back next spring. Beautiful property inside and out.
Thanks so much for the kind review. The sheet shooting at Noontoola Sporting Clays is one of the best ranges at I seen and only 10 min.from the cabin. If you don't have your own gun with you they will rent you one for next to thouing. Also, next time you come try taking the train ride from Blue Ridge to Mc Claysville. It's a one hour ride to and from and a two hour lay over in Mc Claysville for lunch and sightseeing. The kids love it . They have both closed cars and opened air cars as well. Hope to see you in the Spring.( My favorite time here)
Almost impossible to get down the path to access the steps to the river. So we didn't get to enjoy the river at all. Pictures made it seem just a few steps down which wasn't the case. Also a very long way from anything...we should have researched the distance to the town's around before booking so we ended up leaving a day early just to keep from having to drive back. The cabin was clean and well decorated but we were just disappointed.
I also don't think you should have rented a cabin in the woods next to the National Park. Just doesn't sound like you are into woods and nature. We are both in our mid seventies and go up and down the stairs to the river a number of times per day. The drive to both Blue Ridge and Blairsville is 17 miles and a beautiful 25 minutes drive along the river most of the way.
Cute, cozy, welcoming. Everthing you could ask for. Truly enjoyed porches, a cozy fire, birds and a very naughty/funny resident squrril who was quite industriously scavenging for his winter stores😄 we loved the entire property snd the scenic rides and visits to Blue Ridge and Elajay. The train trip well worth the cost and time so much fun. This area was a little gem of a place. Friendly people, cute shops, great dining options. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven.
Thank you so much for the kind review. The front porch seems to be everyone favorite spot for bird watching, reading and dinning. The other favorite with renters is the Blue Ridge train ride to Mc Cayesville Tenn.. The train has gotten be so popular that you now need to book it ahead most days thru out the summer.
Please come again soon !
