Leslie and I met in Washington, DC in the late '80's and lived in Reston, VA in the DC suburbs for 28 years prior to making the blind leap of faith to build our dream home in Old Town Bluffton. Leslie, who is an interior designer has had her own design business for over 20 years. Originally from Massachusetts, she grew up in Huntington, WV and attended Marshall University.
Born and raised in New Jersey at "The Shore", I attended and graduated from Georgetown University which brought me to DC in the late 60's. I spent 25 years as a manager and owner of restaurants before making a career change to the mortgage and real estate business. I have been a licensed realtor for 20 years and have held a real estate broker's license for 12 years and am currently an Associate Broker with Coast Professionals eXp Realty with an office in the heart of Old Town Bluffton and in Coligny Plaza on Hilton Head Island.

Leslie and I first visited Bluffton in September of 2015 and immediately fell in love with its small-town charm, active, vibrant restaurant, bar and music scene, and its friendly residents. A year later, we came back with the intention of buying a home within The Historic District of “Old Town Bluffton”. There was very little on the market at that time, and so we made the momentous decision to buy a lot in Stock Farm and to build a home. In July 2017 we moved from Reston, VA to Bluffton into a rental in Rose Hill Plantation, so that we could be actively involved in and supervise the construction. The project was finally completed, and we moved into our new home on September 17th, 2018. Although there were many challenges, we enjoyed the creative aspect of the process and love our beautiful new home in Bluffton, “The Heart of the Low Country”. Leslie is an interior designer and has had her own design business “Leslie Trenta Designs” for over 20 years and is also the owner and shopkeeper of "Marsh on the May" and home decor and design studio located in a historic building in the heart of Old Town. We built this home in 2018 and designed it with an eye toward creating a classic lowcountry cottage incorporating and blending elements both old and new that we felt would mesh with the look and feel of the Historic District of Old Town Bluffton. We love the result. The front porch with gas lamps, the screened porch with the large awning window with bar top, the fireplace with antique mantel, the antique heart pine floors and the rough-sawn cedar siding and metal roof all suggest warmth and hospitality.
The carriage house apartment was similarly designed to be bright and cozy, fully functional and comfortable though slightly more modern in look than the main house .
We feel confident that you will love this property and our Stock Farm neighborhood as much as we do within walking distance of the historic homes, shops, galleries, bars, restaurants and music venues of Old Town. And just a short drive to Historic Savannah, the beaches of Hilton Head Island, numerous golf courses and just a boat ride away from Daufuskie Island.
